We went to Goa for the first time. It was in Nov 2010. I had done the bookings for 4 nithts with the help of a travel agent in Delhi.
Location:
Its about 40 minutes drive from the airport and its right at Calangute beach which was not very crowded like other beaches like Baga beach. There were not many Indians at this beach, most were foreigners just enjoying and relaxing under the sun.
There wasnt any disco nearby but taxi takes about Rs. 80 for Baga beach where there are a couple of such places where you can booze and dance all night.
Food:
Food was simply amazing. I was worried in the beginning about the food in Goa as my wife is very choosy when it comes to food. But they had very good food. There used to be a lot of variety in breakfast: bread omlette made right there in front of your eyes was my favorite. The ambience where they had arrangements for breakfast was superb. With sea and trees on one side and light music playing in the background, it usd to give such a relaxed feeling and from there you could straight away walked to the beach.
They served Goan as well as very tasty punjabi dishes for lunch and dinner. There used to be a karaoke night for dinner. We used to go for a walk outside the resort after dinner, there were many places just outside where people used to drink and sing almost all night.
The room:
We had a AC honeymoon suite, which had one big bedroom, a bathroom, a living room with Sofa, TV and a fridge. We had a huge balcony with big green trees surrounding it. The only negative was the bed which wasnt very comfortable. They had actually made a double bed by combining two single beds, not good for honeymooners at all.
The room service was satisfactory.
