Customer service excellence

I’ve travelled by Paramount for a total of 5 times on various sectors. Only once they were late by half hour, but since passengers are given free lounge access, we did not feel the delay. It is about the last time I travelled that I wish to highlight. My seven-year-old daughter was with us and we were visiting my parents over the Dushera weekend. The flight was between Coimbatore-Bangalore with a stopover in Chennai.


After an outstanding reception at the Coimbatore airport and bearers employed to carry our luggage to flight, we were seated in grand style within the aircraft. The seats have always been luxurious, one of the reasons I love flying Paramount. Well, their porters would not accept even a paise tips and that in itself was impressive. After being seated inside, the airhostesses served the meals. Such food befits a five-star hotel. The choice was excellent and we both really enjoyed it. My daughter is a picky eater and gives so much trouble at home. However not a morsel was left on our plates when we’d finished!


But the best part came, not in the air, but on the ground!! My daughter had filled out one of their lengthy in-flight feedback forms (I had written in mine that everything was EXCELLENT except the feedback form itself which was too cumbersome to fill up). Anyway, I was surprised to see my daughter write there (they had given her a seperate one), but since it was time to land, I was too distracted to ask her anything. Five days later, after we reached back home on their return flight, my daughter had a letter from their head office!! I was so stunned to see a beautifully wrapped toy and a note from one of their customer service staff. They had addressed it to their young jet-setter.


The gift was to thank my child for filling out their feedback form. I didn’t know such levels of customer service exist in India today. It is indeed mind-boggling. I wish this company will grow to greater and greater heights. Indeed their personal attention and care is simply amazing, both inside the flight and outside it! I believe that my daughter had written in the feedback form, "you should give 2 toys to children." (They had given her a nice travel ludo game in-flight). Now they’d sent her a miniature doll which was just beautiful. She was elated and cannot stop talking about it. The letter too we have safely. It is something I’m sure Meera will cherish, even when she grows up.


I wrote a long thank you letter to their head-office in Coimbatore. Overall, an excellent flight and a very touching experience. Needless to say, I reccommend this airline to all who wish to fly south India.
