Last December, I booked my trip from Chennai to Madurai with Paramount airways. I should say I ama Mouth shut victim. As I
have read lot of good reviews about Paramount, I have preferred this airway
even though it costs 30-50% more. Just 4 hours before the journey I have
got a sms that the flight has been cancelled. I called back customer service, the attendant told that the flight has been cancelled yesterday itself and
they have sent an sms 24 hours earlier. But I havent received any such sms the
day before. And I have asked her to connect to the higher officials, one very
unfriendly executive at the other end promised me to call me back in 30 minutes
and disconnected abruptly. I guess this guy should have worked in Saravana
stores earlier, he was speaking such hard
English.
I havent received any call after that, then I took call taxi to airport and explined the whole story again
and again. I got the one lineresponse "yeah, it has been cancelled. You
will get back your money in 3 working days". Then I had a big argument for
30 minute to get ticket in another low-cost carrier(which is 20% cheaper then I
paid for paramount ticket). **I never got any apology from any of the so
called customer friendly executives.*
I have asked for the reason for cancellation, he told me that it was because of some
unknown operational issue. But he told me knew about this problem
24 hours earlier itself. As per his argument Paramount has sent me an SMS 24
hours earlier, But I havent received any such SMS and when I asked for proof he showed
me the list of passengers booked in the
corresponding flight along with contact info and time at which cancellation sms
has been sent. On seeing that only, I have got to know the exact reason for
cancellation, there were only 6 people booked tickets and the paramount uses
the technical term "Operational Problem" for such cancellation.
All I would like to say at the end Paramount Airways, "A world of
difference", yeah, I do agree but only if you are lucky enough to
book a ticket in a flight which has more the 50% bookings else you will
endup in fighting with Ranganathan street(T-Nagar, chennai) style customer
service executives.
I would recommend Paramount Airways only in peak seasons.
