The Ozzman Cometh!

Though popular now because of his family’s hit television show, Ozzy Osbourne got his musical start in Black Sabbath, along with guitar god Toni Iommi. The album, in my opinion the ’Sabb’s best, starts off with the un-relentless anti-war anthem, War Pigs. It then goes into the thundering Title track, followed by the mellow grooves of Planet Caravan. The thunder of bass drums opens what is probably Black Sabbath’s most famous song, Iron Man. The second half of the album is kicked off with the haunting Electric Funeral, which is followed by the tale of an addict, Hand of Doom. Paranoid ends with the classic stoner rock of Rat Salad and Jack the Stripper. This album set the stage for all stoner rock bands today, and is a must for anyone who enjoys great heavy metal or likes to ’party with Mary Jane’.
