I had gone to paras hopsital, gurgaon for my yearly checkup...1. Mamo and 2.whole abdomen sonography.. Here it all began. While i was getting my sonography done i told the doctor doing the sonography that i did not have a gallbladder..in fact i said to the doctor twice... Low and behold when i got the report.. There it was in black and white.. Gallbladder. Distended.. I went back to the hospital again the next day, met with one of the consulting ms and told the dr about it, the doctor advised to again go back and get it checked out, i did and then found that infact, it was a mistake.. To err is human - and to blame it on a computer is even more so.
18 mm kidney stone reduced to 13mm kidney stone..in less than 24 hours..
Paras hospital, it was on a sunday that i had gone to get an ultrasound at the paras hospital..paid an extra 550 rupees...as it was an emergency..there was just me that day so i was very happy and went through the procedure of the sonography. Came to the hospital to pick up my report at 6 pm tht day and found that there was a huge stone in my kidney size 18 mm, i got the shock of my life..so i took the report to my urologist who was even more surprised as he had seen another report from the paras hospital, only a month before, so in one month how had the stone gone so big..he asked me to go and do another sonography, which i did the next day at 11am, got the report and went back to the paras hospital...the size of the second sonography was put as 12 mm kidney stone..upset i was so angry. I took the report and went to meet the concerned authorities and guess what, they were so sweet, like honey....happy to help...they said to me, i went in for a re-screening in the same sonography machine...and found that the stone size was now, a 13mm kidney stone...so in less than 24 hrs the size of the stone had shrunk by 5mm...if your reading this you need to get your sizes correct so please check out the size from 12 mm to 18 mm...right..thas what a big blunder was done...
Earlier someone very dear to me had gone for a check up to the same paras hospital in the month of march 2012....and done a sonography...and discovered that there was a 14.5mm stone,
In the kidney. An operation was conducted looking at the findings and report of paras hospitals. Since no ct scan was done to confirm or contradict if there was actually a 14.5 mm stone. One would never know...
But now that it is confirmed from an 18mm stone size paras confirmed by sonography less than 24 hrs of a 13mm stone one really has to wonder about the credibility of the machine doing the ultrasonography for the patients. This needs looking into.
