The Bollywood movie addresses how there is nothing shameful about a woman’s need for sex & ownership of her body. Academy award winning cinematographer, Russell carpenter has captured the arid landscape beautifully & dynamically. parched is a directors attempt to understand how and why these women continue to live. Women have a right to decide what they want. They can show their need and desires. Interestingly, the film’s final scenes are se against backdrop of festival celebrating the day on which a lord and goddess defeated the forces of lies & evil, replacing them with truth.
