Parinda stars= jackie shroff, anil kapoor, nana patekar, madhuri dixit and suresh oberoi. The movie is directed by vidhu vinod chopra.
Parinda is a another underworld movie. Kishen ( jackie shroff) and karan ( anil kapoor) who spent their childhood growing up alone in the streets of mumbai. Kishen is the oldest and in order for karan to have a better life and a better job kishen joins anna seth ( nana patekar), anna owns a oil factory, but hat’s just to cover up up his drug dealing business.
Karan is unaware of his brother working in a gang. Karan’s best friend inspector prakash ( anupam kher) is aware of anna’s gang and their activities and wants to bring him to justice. Anna knows about karan and prakash’s friendship so he sets up a plan to kill prakash when karan and prakash are suppose to meet, when karan returns from america.
Karan is devastated, after prakash dies and learns that his brother kishen is a gangster and he works for anna the man responsible for prakash’s death. karan too in anger join’s anna gang in hoping to kill anna and his men. Kishen is devastated that his brother is in the same profession as him, because kishen had wasted his whole life for the education of his brother. Kishen tries to pull karan out of the underworld.
The films has some well shot climaxes, anupam kher’s murder is shot well and there are pigeons flying around all over. Another scene is when anil kapoor and jackie shroff are on the boat and jackie is having a talk with anil. Another scene is when jackie is drunk and anil kapoor calls him and he hangs up the phone saying mar gaya uska bhai.
The music is pretty good it only has about 3 songs in the movie, my favorite is tumse milke aisa laga tumsey milke. The music is by r.d burman.
Anil kapoor gives a another good performance to remember his biggest acheivement is displaying the vulnerbility of his character so perfectly.
Madhuri dixit the only female in the movie and has a short role does very good in the few scenes. The villain role for this movie was made for nana patekar giving his best performance ever, I am surprised he doesn’t do villain roles these days, he did came back with a okay perofrmance in movie shakti.
The person who steals the show is jackie shroff, giving one of his best performances in this movie, his emotional scenes are one that are worth a watch. jackie and anil kapoor share great chemistry on the screen they appeared in a lot of movies together. This movie got jackie best actor award. He deserved it
