Hi everybody I am back again.... but after a long time, I suppose. Actually I am very busy these days with my project. Anyway I am here today to write something about PARIS. Well my husband and I just returned from there. We have been there during the Christmas holidays.
For me it was simply HEAVEN…. reason:
1.the sites
2.This was our honeymoon!!!!!!!
We went from Germany and it cost around 99 euros per person (for 3nights and three days inclusive breakfast and hotels)
To be frank 3 days is not sufficient to see whole of Paris. You at least need 7-10 days. Its such a big city that you really need proper planning. But for those who want to go there I would like to give you a few tips.
First and the most important is that, the moment you reach your hotel please do not forget to take the address of your hotel and the metro connections to it, because even if you go in a conducted tour there is every chance for you getting lost there. After that the second important thing is to get hold of a map of Paris where you get to know all the important places of Paris and also the bus and the metro connections thereby. It is always better if you can travel by your own and enjoy the city. Bus trips over the city are good but they give you only limited time. So for certain places like the museums and the castles its not always sufficient to cover up everything within that stipulated time. So go on your own and enjoy.
Some of the sites that I would suggest for you people are:
1.the Eiffel tower: I think no one can dare forget it because the very thought that come to us once we here of Paris is the Eiffel tower. Also known as the IRON LADY, this tower is about 324 meter high. Once you reach the top its really fantastic. The site from the top is spectacular. And at night you can never miss to see the illumination and roof top beam sent by the towers beacon.
2.The boat trip: it takes you a long trip for about 2 hours along the river Seine. Of course you should take the trip by night. You get an opportunity to see the illuminated Eiffel tower and the statue of liberty. Its really a site to see and very romantic too! Never miss it.
3.Museum de louvre: This is another place of interest and very famous too. This museum mainly attracts tourists for the portrait of Mona Lisa. Besides there are many other European paintings too. In addition there are lot of sculptures also. This museum is divided into 7 departments and contains great antiques of different ages.
The notre dame: this is a cathedral and built during the reign of Louis VII. Pope Alexander III laid the foundation stone. This is a very beautiful church and if you are there in the evenings you can be a part of the prayers.
Versailles castle: Built during the reign of Louis XIV.This is really a very big castle with the huge hall of mirrors, the kings chamber, the queens hamlet, the gardens and so on. Its really nice and you can spend the whole day there.
This is in brief about Paris. There are a number of other places of interests. You just have to plan according to your duration of visit. But for every monument the entry fee is 7.50 euros per person. So I would suggest that you visit only those places that you think is of interest.
Now a little bit about food…. well there area lot of restaurants starting from Indian to African. But do try once a real French cuisine and try with the French wine. To have food at much cheaper rates I personally feel McDonalds is best.
So dear friends get set to visit this wonderful city of romance!!!!!!!!!
