Go forSalman, the songs and A broadband SenseOfHumr

Partner:

PLOT: Who ever said anything about a plot in Dhawan movies. The plot is best not talked about as it is not the USP of David and he does’nt  believe in taxing the stressed out audience in these days of Bull -runs (amok). The beginning was quite a letdown  and there were a few murmurs and my neighbour was talking of  leaving, but stayed till the end ultimately.

CAST: I never cared much for Salman in the past as his dialog delivery appeared laboured and his antics forced or maybe the vibes never jived , but he carried this movie as the Mr Know-all-about-love Guru and an ethical(no one nite-stands) take-it or leave-it attitude, who is forced to tutor Govinda in quest for dreamgirl Katrina.  His toned and well chiseled pack of muscle talks loudest and maybe was the reason behind the loss of flab by Chi Chi also who looked fairly trim himself . Govinda was brilliant in patches, too old for some shocking antics which didn’t go with his frame and Okay in others. Salman truly carried the show on his shoulder. Lara’s (the poky nose tabloid reporter) presence was quite forced really as was of Chota Don Rajpal Yadav et-al, because of her. Chota Don humour and SITCOM was the dumbest part other than the slow beginning. The leading ladies were charming, shook themselves pleasantly, spoke less smiled more with unbelievably pearlies and met Davids requirement in full.

And the rest...The cinematography was excellent, the colours brilliant, dresses heavenly (I liked all the exquisite Shirt & Ties, strange as clothes never caught my eyes before), locations from Phuket to Dubai were well chosen and sets were good.  The gay innuendo was offendsive well, to the gays at least and Dhawan/Govinda mercifully did’nt dwell on it much. The songs were definitely passable and fairly rhythmic but loud and Salman –Gov duo did combine well for a change. The climax idea was definitely borrowed from Seeta and Geeta (an old time Dharmendra-Hema Malini formula hit) and the timing was good and for those like me, who sat resigned to their fate, it was hilarious (involuntary of course). Final Verdict:  Watchable and forgettable and definitely not to be recommended to friends unless asked for and for those under therapy.
