Happened to watch Partner last night.... In fact happened to watch
would be a wrong term... I was eagerly waiting for the movie as I am
definitely a fan of Govinda... I think he is one of the best talents
that Bollywood has ever produced.
Well coming to movie... Yes it opened to packed houses and thats no
surprise. David’s last two movies have been quite ok. Mujhse Shaadi
Karogi (Good) and Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya(Average).
But Partner is definitely better than these two.
Yes, its ’inspired’ by the Will Smith starrer Hitch and no complains about that as David never boasts of originality.
A piece of warning before going to watch the movie. The movie is openly
meant to be a senseless laughathon and there is absolutely no time to
think between those laughter moments.
Plot:
Coming to the plot... Nothing new about it.. Its absolutely HITCH.
Salman plays Love guru and Govinda... well.. his disciple to woo his
boss Katrina.
Salman is in love with a journalist single mother played by Lara Dutta.
The movie is all about the protagonists achieving their respective lady
love. All this amongst hilarious situations laced with witty one liners
that are sure to make every one person laugh who has some sense of
humour.
*Best Scenes:
*1. Govinda chasing Salman till he agrees to help him woo Katrina.
Salman’s escapades with the kid played by Ali Haji.
Chota Don sequences(Wish there was more of the genius Rajpal Yadav)
Conversations between Govinda and Salman(awesome chemistry)
*Performances:
*Though Salman and Govinda put in fantastic acts together... But Partner definitely belongs to Govinda.
He missed somewhat in Bhagam Bhag but in Partner he seems in terrific form.
Salman is fantastic and stylish as the love guru.
Katrina doesn’t get much scope. She looks extremely pretty and is a decent performer.
Lara Dutta is ok. She does her job well.
The surprise is the kid Ali haji... The kid is a wonderful performer and is really a treat to watch.
Rajpal yadav as Chota Don is excellent. The problem is that he doesn’t get enough time.
Others are ok.
*Music:
*Music by sajid Wajid is quite good. The title track, my love and dupatta tracks are good to listen and tap your feet.
*Overall, Partner is a movie you can watch and enjoy with your family. Dont think... Just Laugh.
This one is a sure shot hit.
