What if you wake up one day and realise that your life is a lie? The people around you dont seem any more? What if you learn that YOU ARE DEAD?
Thats nothing else but what Passengers is all about. A movie which seems to be like any other flight based flick, but is literally not.
Plot-
After a plane crash, a young therapist, Claire( Anne Hathaway) is assigned by hermentor to counsel the flight’s five survivors. When they share theirrecollections of the incident Claire is intrigued by Eric(Patrick Wilson)the most secretive of the passengers. Just as Claire’s professionalrelationship with Eric - despite her better judgment - blossoms intoa romance, the survivors begin to disappear mysteriously, one by one.Claire suspects that Eric may hold all the answers and becomesdetermined to uncover the truth, no matter the consequences.
Actors-
I have never expected Anne in such a professional woman’s attire but she has surpassed my expectations indeed. She looks pretty, adorable and charming, combined with talent and qualification. She does justice to the role very properly.
Patrick Wilson is also very good. He is cute, charming and handsome along with it he is a good actor too .
Other actors have played their parts well too.
What I liked about the movie?
The softness of the movie despite it being a thriller .is what amused me. Its a mystery, thriller, romantic movie but at the same time, with no shades of horror or scare. Its a flick which will trigger your senses and make you sympathise with the characters. You might end up feeling lonely and disheartened only because you might feel yourself too engrossed in it and literally feeling it too.
The desperation of Claire is well understood thru-out and so is of Eric, which reveals as the story trails.
Its a unique, one of its kind, thriller which needs your attention and concentration to be understood.
What I did not like about it?
Besides it being so lovable, the part where it becomes confusing and not being told properly is what lacks all the times. I would say, its not presented in a way which can be easily understood and even after the movie ends, you might scratch your head, asking yourself few questions, like " So what happened to the plane? " and " So, were they really dead? " etc etc.
Its an unreal and non original movie which makes it a bit boring at times. I do not mean here that all unrealistic movies are boring and should be disliked, but they should be presented in a way where they can be liked or atleast understood. This one lacks the latter.
I am still scratching my head, asking answers for the same:)
Conclusion-
Despite all this, I would recommend a YES to this one coz you need to see the performances of the casts and the lightness . which says aloud that not every thriller needs to be loud and gawdy.
Also try FEELING and LIVING the characters and then see how you feel at the end .
