I had worse experience in Lucknow PSK rather a terrible one. I filled the online application and ARN number was generated but was unable to get an appointment. I went to check for this at the PSK where I was told that only 700 appointment slots are open for a day and rest walk-in categories are taken in. you need to try every day at 4:00pm.
On enquiring that why aren’t the appointments increased if there are more people to apply? I was bluntly told that it is because we have shortage of staff!!! is this genuine? Now passport application submission would be basis TCS staff recruitment!!! and not the need and requirement of the public!!
One senior from TCS who refuse to tell his name but as some Mr. Chaterjee met me and said see this is as per procedure of ours " Aapko itni jaldi hai to tatkal mein banwa lijie" Means a normal civilian can not apply in normal scenario because TCS doesn’t have staff and but can come through tatkal where fees is high for that TCS has staff is it???
In this entire rush and push I saw how badly the general public was being dealt. they were begin pushed and scolded like anything every now and then. no pleasing smile or courtesy was given at any point of time. People were saying that they have been waiting for their turn since 9:00 am and it was 3:00 pm but they had no information about their number to come for getting a token only.
And there on the other hand while I was waiting outside Mr. Chaterjee’s cabin a person came out from his cabin and went to APO’s cabin and some people followed him soon after he came out all of them were issued tokens immediately from a special counter allocated to them inside the TCS processing section A1 counter (rest all people get tokens from the token counter in token area.
When I came out from the cabin another person was waiting I stood there to see and to my surprise the same thing happened he came out of Mr. Chatterjee’s cabin went to APO cabin 10 people with him and all were issued token right from A1 counter! I checked with this person who had gone to these cabins and he said that he could get my work done too if I pay him Rs 800.
So this was an agent!! So why a super duper modeled passport seva kendra? Why not the old passport office where at least by these same agents we could get the passports we would not have been in the problems of appointment per day and TCS staff shortage etc.
