These PSKs are definitely an improvement. I applied for passport at Jaipur PSK in September 13.
I filled the application online at around 10 Pm and got next day afternoon appointment. When I reached there, I was surprised!( in a good way) . The ambiance was good, the service was good, the staff was professional( much better than the Babu’s of other Indian offices).
You just have to show up at the PSK with correct documents (one can even take xerox there only). It took me about 2 hours to finish all the formalities (it was lunch time so maybe this would have been even less some other time of the day).
Overall, it was a pleasant experience.
