I think patna is ignored as a tourist destination. patna is a major tourist place & there u cud find many places related to buddhist & jain interests.


at patna there is a place called kumbhrar, here there is a pillar of ashoka.


there is patna museum where u cud find many artefacts n articles related to buddhists, jain, hindus n muslim interests. there is the world’s largest tree fossil.


at patna there is ’’patther ki masjid’’, it was built by a brother of aurangjeb.


there is ’’gol ghar’’, a bee-hive shaped granary & from here the whole of patn acan be seen.


there is the ’’patna saheb’’, the birthplace of the 10th guru of sikhs, guru govind singh.


there is patna planetarium, 2nd biggest of india.


there is the historic gandhi maidan.


there are the old british structures like the ’’ raj bhavan’, high court’ & ’vidhan sabha’’.


patna has the largest riverline in the world. it is surrounded by ganges on north & east & sone on the west.


u cud also find the ’’agam kuan’’, where ashoka burried his 100 brothers.


patna was known as pataliputra during ashoka time. chanakya, ashoka & all other legends of their time lived at patna. patna is among the oldest cities of india.


at places near to patna, u can find the remains of the ancient university of nalanda at nalanda.


u can find the jain & hindu temples at rajgir. u can also find hot water springs, ropeway, etc there.


u can find jain temples at vaishali at vaishali. it was the 1st republic of the world. it is a very importent place for jains.


bodh gaya is also very near, 4 hours drive from patna.


u can reach patna from anywhere in india through air or train or bus. it is the capital of bihar.
