Clueless management, pathetic customer service.

I used to be a fan of this website, I have recommended it to all my friends. They used to be awesome until a few months ago. But things have changed.




  1. No explanation provided for any changes they make. They turned around 650 of my paytm cash balance to recharge coupons without ever sending a letter about it or asking for permission of the customer.




They believe they can play with your money and no explanation is needed whatsoever. I wrote to customer care about it, I got a reply after one week saying they can refund it to my bank. They don’t get it. My question was why on earth they decided to convert my cash to a promo code without giving me the option to’opt in/out’.


The management at Paytm obviously has no clue how to manage a change process or what customer rights are. They don’t seem to understand that changes in policies and procedures cannot be one sided-you need to provide customers the options.


(Similar with their Paytm cash- most of the complaints here are about it. If only they asked for customer permission and give customer the chance to decide whether or he want his money to be refunded to bank or to be converted to Paytm cash, these complaints wouldn’t have aroused. But they don’t do that. They just believe they can do whatever they want with your money- convert to paytm cash, convert to promo codes, whatever.)


As I said, clueless management, hopeless customer service. I quit.


Bye Bye Paytm, I will rather use free-charge or any similar firms.

We are available 24 hours on all 7 days of the week to resolve your issues. Remember at Paytm your trust is foremost. We understand that you might have faced some issues in using your balance available in your Paytm account due to some recent changes. However, due to certain restrictions on the money available with your Paytm account, added prior to January 6, 2014, it could not be used in many of transactions. Therefore, we issued a unique promocode for all such users. Later, as soon as we received approval from RBI towards a users convenience, we converted all the promocode balance in to Paytm Cash balance. This balance is available in new and activated wallets of our users. You can cross check this change if you had cash left as the promocode balance. Better, we suggest you write to us with your registered mobile no. and email id at care@paytm.com so that we could check the status of your account and any balance left in it.
