Pennsylvania commonly called as Penn state lies on the East Coast. Famous for its Amish community, its a state nestled in natures lap.
Best time to visit: During summers, since winters can be harsh with snow
Places of interest:
-Lancaster: The Amish community is of German descent and has been living a simple life without any modern amenities. Worth a see are the farms and the Amish people with their traditional dresses. A beautiful countryside with buggys on the road.
-Hersheys chocolate world: A paradise for chocolate lovers. You can buy large sized chocolates. Also ride a train to see how Herseys chocolates are made.
-Strasburg Rail road: One of US famous railroads that was constructed specifically to house the Railways. Old diesrl engines to electric ones, all are placed under one roof with well maintained engines.
Entry fee:$20
-Liberty Bell: The bell is a symbol of American Independence. A famous crack appears vividly on the bell. Many theories are put forward as to the reason of the crack.
-Independence Hall: Where the American constitution was signed.
-Gettysburg: War and related battlefield armour is at display.
General pointers:
-Mostly farms and less of skycrapers. Close to nature is how I will describe this place. Acres and acres of farmland.
-Amish community doesnt allow strangers to interact with their people, unless required.
-Food is generally european in most parts. A good restaurant is Millers in Lancaster, where a$10 meal includes a yummy buffet.
-English and German is the language mostly spoken
-Not well connected cities so hiring a cab or getting a vehicle to travel is the best choice.
-Hotels are affordable and easy to get.
Last Word: If you want a feel of nature, then Pennsylvania is the place! Totally Recommending!
