This historic little hotel is located in Oberwil in the Simmental Valley. It is run by a couple whose passion is to pamper their guests! We reached there late in the evening after driving all over Switzerland. They offer free parking. The family room that we had booked was large and spacious, with free wi-fi , a TV and DVD player with a selection of movies.Clean beds and bed linen as well as writing table, dining table and spacious cupboards were provided. The bathroom too was large with all modern facilities and squeaky-clean.The dining room was again a spacious one with old-world charm.
They gave us a sumptous dinner with several kinds of cheese, salads, breads and potato delicacies when they realised we were vegetarians. The fruit salad and icecream too were lovely. The view from the room was heaven on earth! The sight of white snow-capped mountains with green valleys were a soothing balm to the eyes of city-dwellers like us! I spent all my waking hours watch the clouds float by!
The breakfast buffet was delicious and offered a lot of variety. The husband and wife duo who run the hotel had a smile on their lips and took pride in their family-owned hotel. It was with a heavy heart that we bid adieu to them and the charming Pension Hirschen as we drove away. I do hope to go there again and again !
