Poor Logistics and Customer Service

So here goes my story. I’ve had over 4-5 purchases off pepperfry and the experience was alright. In the past I’ve received a defective watch but still kept it despite being asked to return it!, as I felt I could consider a one time error.


However,  this latest episode is one worth forgetting. I had placed an order for a clothes drying stand and a ladder to be delivered to goa as I was to head to my goa place for a holiday. I called them up before placing the order and was told they cannot hold back products as it’s out of their control.


Since this was a ladder and a stand which is heavy I wanted these to be delivered when I was present in Goa. They said no, so I said alright and sent it to my relatives address instead.


A day later they replied to my tweet and called saying they can try and ship it at a later stage so as to get it to me when in there. I said great and the order was to leave them on the 14th of May 2014 as I was to reach goa on the 17th. They said I should get it by 19-20 via Gati.


I said cool. I was then not kept posted and after sending them reminders was told the items haven’t been dispatched as of the 14th and they accidentally cancelled one of the orders due to some system glitch! I agreed to do an online transfer and they dispatched both products the next day that is 15th.


When in GOA I called them up and also spoke with Gati who said the products are are stuck in Mumbai. This was 20th already! No mail from pepperfry! They then said I should get it by the 22nd. I was to leave on the 23rd and agreed!


Guess what 22nd and still no delivery. I called gati and they said it’s still in mumbai and only 1 of the 2 products have been received. Is this some joke? Pepperfry initiated a refund for one, till date no news of the other one. The worst part is their executive told me ’we’re sorry to know you’re disappointed with following up for your own order’


This is the most strange and rudest forms of replies I’ve ever received! Did thy do me some big favour? If they couldn’t ship it at a later date, they could have simply said no. I had agreed to that not being possible anyways. They gave me hope and then blamed me for the delay. Unfair on all fronts.
