Even if Pepperfry.com gave me all their products free, I would stay away from them. I have never encountered such a dishonest company. I am shocked that companies like this even exist.
I placed an order for a coffee table and as a signup offer a discount of 20%. The product was to be shipped by September 2. Its the 17th today and still no update.
I contacted the person assigned to my order, she never replied to my emails. When I called customer care, they say they have no information or update as the person assigned to me is on leave. And she has been on leave for about a week. No one in the entire company is able to help.
I get a call back finally and she gives some weird story of rains in Jodhpur. Then says it will be shipped to Mumbai and from there to Bangalore etc etc. After about an hour she sends me an email saying, please be available at your home tomorrow as the product is going to be delivered. I waited the entire day and no sign of my order.
When I wrote back to her, she dint reply. I wrote to customer care and they say ignore that mail. I spoke to 2-3 people in the customer care. What they have in common - a fake accent, non-stop lying! Such a disgusting experience. They say I don’t have an option to cancel the order. Shows their greed and what cheats they are. They haven’t kept their part of the contract and still wont let me cancel.
I think companies like this should be shut and money returned to the VCs who invest in them!
