I made the mistake of ordering a ceiling fan on Pepperfry, when I should have walked to a neighborhood shop and bought it in person.
The ceiling fan delivered was defective and would not rotate at more than about 5 revolutions per minute. I had to call in an electrician who diagnosed that the capacitor was defective and I had to pay him to replace the capacitor. So essentially, I ended up getting a "brand new" fan repaired at my cost before I could use it. Incidentally, the fan took a week to deliver.
Incidentally, pepperfry shows a timeline in which they show "QC completed". I am 100% sure they didnt do any quality checks, otherwise I wouldnt have ended up with a defective fan.
If I had used common sense and bought it from a physical shop in person, I could have got it same day and there also would have been no need to repair a new fan. Sent pepperfry details of my experience, not even an apology from them(instead in recent days, my email box is bombarded with emails from pepperfry trying to get me to buy other stuff - not a chance in hell of that incidentally).
