Terrible Service and assembly

I had ordered a kitchen side unit from Pepperfry and the same was delivered on 28th Oct’16.


I immediately received an SMS stating that the carpenter will be visiting the same day to install the product.


This did not happen, I received another message on Oct 29th that the carpenter will be visiting to assemble the product.


This again did not happen, I received another message on 31st, 1st, 2nd of the carpenter visiting my place to assemble the product.


But as expected there was no call nor did the carpenter visit.


I decided to complain to Pepperfry.


On chatting with the customer representative I was assured that the product will be assembled on priority and the carpenter will visit me the same day.


This too did not happen.


Send Complaint was placed with Pepperfry and I requested them to cancel the order and issue me a refund.


I was told that is not possible and I need to again wait for the Carpenter.


After a few more days(And not carpenter visit) I received a call from their manager who gave me the small kid excuses as below:

  1. It is festive season

  2. The carpenter was trying to reach you

  3. The carpenter could not locate the address

My only reply was, if your product could reach my place on time - why could not the carpenter?


Pepperfry still refused to cancel the product stating nothing is wrong.


Surprised


After giving up, the carpenter was again scheduled to come on 4th Nov - which as usual he did not show up.


Finally the Carpenter showed up on 5th Nov(Sunday) and assembled the product.


On visiting my home and taking a look at the assembly - I was shocked to see TERRIBLE way the furniture was assembled.


The doors were not aligned, one door was loose etc.


This is the second such experience with Pepperfry and am not going to order another product from them.


Comparing them to UrbanLadder and Fabfurnish - I was pleasantly surprised when I ordered a product, they came with 5 personnel to assemble once small cabinet and they had a supervisor who ensured everything was done correctly.

This company is absolutely pathetic!


I am adding into an existing complaint - I had ordered an Almari in Aug 2016 and the entire Door just came off. On raising a complaint the executive assured someone will come and rectify.


I got a call from the carpenter today - who was to come in the morning . Not surprisingly I got a call from the carpenter that he cant come and will come in the evening at 4pm.


Guess what!


No carpenter - No call= Same pathetic service.


Nothing has changed with this company.


Inspite of complaints - they have not improved. Worse experience!
