This is a UF membrane based water purifier which does not need external power. It will work with a tank of minimum 10ft water head. This is an excellent, low maintenence product that is suitable for municipal water with low TDS(<500ppm). For borewell water or other high TDS water better to use the nano filtration unit developed by same company.
(Permionics has pioneered UF technology in India, right from using it for blood dialysis, also the prestigious BARC, Mumbai have developed extensive expertise in this technology for Indian conditions. This is far superior to UV and RO/chemical methods for most of the urban municipal water supplies.)
It gives 10lph @ height of 10ft. In practice, I have a 30ft tank, so the 7l internal tank fills up pretty quickly. Maintenance is minimal, just flushing for 2 mins a day, and replacing cartridge every 6 months(Rs.300),
Overall, a very hassle free, well designed product.
It has ZERO advertisement so another sign that the money spent will go into product design and development, not into the hands of Ms. Hema Malini and other film stars or IPL matches(Kent, EF). Also the experience of dealing with the friendly and helpful dealer is very pleasant and highly recommended. This will also save you from the clutches of the salesman in kent, Eureka forbes etc.
Please educate yourself, do not fall prey to the scamsters peddling highly wasteful RO systems which are harmful to a water stressed country like India. RO systems need lot of maintenance and costly AMC as well. They are bad for the environment and for your wallet. UV is slightly better, but again their efficacy is questionable.
