Peter England shirts

I don’t think very much of Peter England shirts, they strike me as being loud, cheap and vulgar.

My personal preference for everyday use is for Van Heusen or Arrow, both offer excellent value for money and are well cut. Both brands are now being made in India and reasonably priced. There is a good selection of colours and sizes available.

If someone wants a really excellent shirt then I can only direct them to Jermyn Street in London where the tailors will hand stitch the finest shirts known to man from sea island cotton.

Turnbull & Asser at No 70, Jermyn St. are highly regarded. Others of note include Hawes & Curtis at No 23 and Harvey and Hudson at No 97; Lewins at 103 -106 now angled towards the younger man and Thomas Pink at No 86 boasting Europe’s biggest ready made shirt shop - a vast choice. Hackett at No 87 has carved out a special niche for the traditional but younger British look
