I am Sandeep, on March 26, I paid a visit to one of Peter Englands showrooms situated near Tower Square(Peter England Showroom 11-A, Sapna Sangeeta Road, Near Sapna Sangeeta Talkies, Indore(M.P.) 452-001), and my experience is pathetic to say the least.
Though, I have been to Peter Englands showrooms in the past and purchased few apparels, but this time I observed a huge difference in attitude of the showroom staff. They are not very keen to help the customers and more interested in shutting the shop on time.
My ordeal started when I opted to return a T-shirt worth Rs. 1, 199 which my cousin has purchased from aforementioned showroom on March 24th. I wanted to exchange this T shirt as the size was a bit small for my liking. I visited the showroom on 26th March at 9:15 PM to exchange the aforesaid T-shirt and found out that the bigger size is unavailable. I inquired about processing a return as the required size is unavailable, but the showroom staff simply refused my request and mentioned that there is only an exchange policy and return policy simply doesnt exist.
I started looking for other options, and to my utter shock the my required size is unavailable for most of the options available in the showroom. I was willing to pay more to buy a linen shirt but again the required size was unavailable. In the meanwhile the showroom staff was keep on pushing me to complete my purchase at the earliest as they need to shut the shop and call it a day. I was literally pissed off due to the unavailability of my required size across the apparels in the showroom, and on top of that the attitude of showroom staff was rubbing salt on the wounds. Finally, I had to resort to a purchase which I didnt want to make in the first place, I bought two T-shirts which I think I will never wear in days to come.
My repetitive requests for processing a refund was blatantly refused by the showroom staff, which should have been processed due to the unavailability of the worthy replacements. Due to this unprofessional attitude of Peter England, they have lost a customer for the life time. I will make sure to spread these good words among my colleagues and friends so that they aware about the malpractices of this showroom. On my closing note I would say work on your inventory and attitude guys. Gone are the days when companies used to take customers for granted and they had to come back to them due to lack of competition. If you continue to provide such shoddy experience to your consumers then get ready to shut the shops permanently in the near future. PS: Had this happened in the US, people would have sued you in the court for denying the return in absence of worthy replacement.
