Value for money

I happened to read reviews for Peter England and then I thought I could also write one as I have shopped for PE in the past. Few have compared PE with other higher-category brands, which I feel is unfair. PE can be put under mid-range category ...the description for this could be value for money brand. They might not be fantastic garments but they are worth the price and cater to a certain segment of the populace.

Even though I own just one PE shirt, I have purchased a few more as gifts. Generally my opinion of the shirt I wear and also the ones I gifted is that they are good shirts, they are made of good fabric, the color does not fade, easy to wash and iron, doesn’t get wrinkled easily and fit is also quite decent.

But you can’t rely on the brand name and buy blindly. Whatever brand it may be, one should always check the fabric quality and wear a sample garment before deciding. So there could be many PE shirts which are manufactured from poor quality fabric but with good colors and checks just to cater to the lower budget. The ones I bought were of good fabric and medium priced.

I feel the best part of PE shirts is the maintenance. One need not take extra care when it comes to washing. Just normal washing will do. Then again a normal temperature will do for ironing. The shirts are easy to iron as the stitching and fit is good. You can wear it 4-5 times before next wash, I am telling that based on my usage. The shirts do not get wrinkled easily ....this may apply to only those shirts which have quality fabric.

I would also like to mention a bad experience. Once I had purchased a PE trouser as a gift. The person whom I gifted that found it of low quality. The trouser after the first wash acquired wrinkles which wouldn’t go even on double ironing. So I promptly took it to the showroom and got it replaced ....but the showroom manager asked me to choose a San Frisco trouserinstead saying that San Frisco also is a PE brand. The replaced trouser turned out to be a good one.

So as I mentioned earlier it is important to check the fabric before purchasing. But sometimes goof-up happen and its upto the retailer to accept the faulty apparel and replace it with a good one.
