PETTA - THE MASS ENTERTAINER!!!

IN MY OPINION:

Petta, written and directed by Kartik Subbaraj - who is himself a Rajinikanth fan brings out a high on energy entertaining movie with all the Thailava elements in it. The speciality of a Rajinikanth movie is that it never goes out of style. A Rajini film never misses out on the entertaining factor which is why the audience are always mesmerised when they watch a Thalaiva film. Petta is just one among them.

STAR-CAST:

Rajinikanth, Vijay Sethupathi, Sananth Reddy, Megha Akash, Simran Bagga, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Trisha Krishnan, M. Sasikumar, Bobby Simha, J. Mahendran, Guru Somasundaram, Malavika Mohanan, Ramdoss, Aadukalam Naren, and Manikandan R. Achari.

PLOT OF THE MOVIE:

A new hostel warden named Kaali(Rajinikanth) takes incharge of a boy’s college hostel and brings out many positive changes, earning love, respect and appreciation of his students. Anwar(Sananth Reddy) takes admission in the college just to be with his girlfriend Anu(Megha Akash) but the college badass Michael(Bobby Simha) has a loving desire for her. Everytime when Anwar falls in a problem, Kaali rescues him, which leads to a confrontation between him and Michael’s father who is a local businessman and a goon. Meanwhile, Kaali falls in love with Anu’s single mother Mangalam(Simran Bagga). When there is an approach made by Michael’s gang to attack Kaali and Anwar, a new gang comes into the picture, eventually leading Kaali to face Singaa(Nawazuddin Siddiqui) who is a politician and his rowdy son Jithu(Vijay Sethupathi). The plot reveals that all three of them are connected from the past, which narrates Kaali’s past story and the reason why he has joined the boy’s hostel.

PERFORMANCE:

It has been over a decade we have been watching Rajini sir doing a playful, energetic, and a fun filled act on the big screen and Kartik has made it possible again. Majority of Rajini movies focuses on the narration part and its plot. But, here in Petta, Kartik is in for the Rajinism effect. Rajini, the thalaivar, is a treat to be watched on screen, as always. The rest of the cast have given a decent performance and nobody disappoints you.

MUSIC:

Anirudh Ravichander’s music and the background music score go hand-in-hand well with the theme.

CINEMATOGRAPHY:

Kartik Subbaraj has given attention to the technical side as well, thanking Tirru and Vivek Harshan for handling the cinematography and editing amazingly well with all their hard work and true effort. The shooting locations are beautiful and they make the background attractive and appealing to your eyes.

MY SUGGESTION TO YOU:

No doubt, Petta will be enjoyed by all the Rajini fans. It’s a complete high power entertaining package from Kartik Subbaraj and his crew. Go for it.
