DVL988 is a pretty good piece from Philips. This model offers all the basic features of a DVD and is quite comfortable at the price. Although one does feel that the company should (could) have put in some more features, this one definetely rates as a good buy.The maintenance is too good.The price is also reasonable and the after sales service is too good. Overall it can be a good buy for first time users and the usage is for home purposes.
