Well... To start with.
What is a music system without a real sound?? An empty set.
There have been many poor comments made on Philips in the past. But hey... watch out, nobody can beat it!!!
Coming to the product. Hmmm.. I m writing this revu after playing songs on this masterpiece for the past 3 yrs. And strictly speaking... Ive seen many systems after and before that. I found V520 the best!!!1
Starting with the Looks. Thats the first element of attraction that all companies try to enhance in their products. Just look at the Photo of v520 there. I mean... this has proven to be as a brilliant show piece (mind u, its just not 4 show off) in our living room. The royal black colour adds to the lusture of the house.
Coming to the functions - they r many. It has a 3 vcd changer cd player in it. It plays vcd, mp3 and acds with ease. U also got the two tape deck, one for record - playback and the other for playback. Then there is a source option where u can connect an external source (be it a TV or a synth or guitar or mic or....). Who said its not got a radio option. It has and what to say abouth the reception, its fantastic. Even not living in Mumbai, I get to hear all the major radio stations of Mumbai, some other FMs and A.Ms. It has got a 40 radio channel memory.
Performance and sound!!!! U got it. U may think that its just 2200 Watt, but mind u, it will move ur brain the moment u take the volume upto 20 (max is 40). What a sound quality its got. Some 16 equalizer presets with 2 additional fuctions of INCREDIBLE SURROUND and MAX SOUND gives u such an output that u forget about worldly matters and fly away in a dream musical world.
It even plays brutally scratched mp3s and cds with a sound quality of a nu one. The picture quality from the vcds is mesmerizing. Its also got a mic slot and a headphone slot. U can sing with echo on that converts ur voice into an echoic studio sound. U can change the key (scale) of a cd song. It may seem humorous on hearing but infact, it proves important for singers.
There is an option termed A-B. Its quite handful. By using this option, u can make a particular section of a song repeat as many times u like. There is a slow option which , when used, slows down the motility of a moving picture on a vcd by three times. Other options include recording (u can record to tape from any source. Recordinf from cd to casette gives a perfect digital sound quality even on tape), cd digest and fast forward upto 4 times...
Well... U ought to buy this one. I m not doing a false publicity of philips and rating the review best. Its really the best one u can get....
