The philips FW220 is not a deck with all kinds of bells and whistles, but it is pretty good for less than 13000 Rs. It has all the basic features such as MP3, VCD(3 VCD changer) Double cassette deck, 2 band radio. The sound quality is very good. 120 + 120 Watt RMS is quite enough for any party, and the clarity is brilliant. Unfortunately, it does not have some essential features like Line out, Graphic 5band frequency selector(equalizer). It has only 4 presets (Jazz, Rock, Techno, Optimal !!) The deck looks pretty neat as far as looks go, and it’s small enough to be easily portable. Unfortunately, the speaker wires are fixed into the speaker and are far too short in length to be able to give stereo effect. All in all, it is an average product, but the price is pretty reasonable. Also, since it is from philips, servicing is a cinch. Just wish it had some better features.
