This 2200W PMPO is a 2.1 Surround sound system is fit with a TV for good movie experience.
The sound is real and its almost 10 months and no problem with it, except the Karaoke was not functioning which was a unit defect and I got it rectified in a SC.
1. Mini 3 CD changer which can play DVD, DVDRW, VCD, SVCD, ACD, MP3, JPG, GIF , ISS9660/UDF etc
2.It has double deck for high speed dubbing and recording.
3. Karaoke
4. Its two channel full digital amplifier creates the same theatre experience.(ofcourse not as good as 5.1 surround sound which I was not aware before purchase)
5. Parental rating lets you rate DVDS so that children cannot view a DVD above a rating
6. Night mode, where in you can reduce the sound effects
7. Sleep mode, by which you can specify the system to go to standby mode at a particular time However this doesnt play WMA, WAV, VMA, Non-English ALbum title, MP3PRO, MP3ID3, DVDS must be labelled for region 3 or for all regions(regions are sectors on the disc and normal DVDS are fall in these two categories)
However the best affects of audio can be experienced with a 45degrees V location where the audience is at the vertex of V and speakers are at the two corners. When compared to Sony this is no inferior for normal audience. One has to be more skilful in making out the difference between Sony and Philips though the former is considered still the best and expensive. Because philips is less expensive with more features, it is considered best.
This system costed me 19K some 10 months back and now its 16K I believe. At that time , Sony with similar features costed around 26K. So friends you are left to the choice. Good luck.
