No doubt it is a good product, but it could have been better. The Dolby digital Prologic amp has no meaning with 2 front firing speakers. It should have had a 5.1 speakers or in alternative support avialable in the form of output jacks and compatibile 5.1.Home theatre speakers.Whether it has a inbuilt dolby digital decoder, is also not clear even to the dealers.
The after sales support and product upgrade of phillips is poor, I can say from my experience as I tried my level best to get details about the upgrade and support available, but was dissapointed.
When any company sell such primium products there should be an upgrade and support service available. On the whole it is a good system with remarkable sound. The prologic amp is slow at times to respond to a command , and a major set back is that the 3 DVDs do not play one after the other. Also there is no auto shut down facility after finishing of play back in the DVD segment or in the tape Decks.Dubbing quality of the deck is quite poor.
It is a good system for people who do not want a sophisticated system, but with changing trends towards 5.1 systems , it is losing out. Those who have bought it can now only look for cheap disposal , and go for a 5.1 system , unless upgrade facility is provided to the existing owners.
