I bought a Philips HD 4938 Induction stove (also called cooker, though its not a pressure cooker) a month back. I got it from a Philips only dealer for 4200 rupees. I opted not to take the utensils. It takes time to get used to.
One needs to have specific utensils/cooker with absolutely flat bottoms, if you put a regular vessel on it, it will keep beeping. There are pressure cooker and non-stick cookware for induction stoves that one may need to purchase. These can be used on a regular gas stove also. The induction stove is great for all routine cooking. The timer is useful, though a bit difficult to understand initially. The manual temperature control is good if you cant figure out whether to cook a particular item on roti dosa or on deep fry.
Parathas are ok to cook on a non-stick tawa. I found it difficult for phulkas as I am used to putting it straight on the flame to phulao.
The best thing about it was that its light, doesnt consume space, its easy to clean.
