I'm Not A Drip!

I haven’t been feeling very well and every thing seems to bother me. We never iron our sheets because they are cotton no-iron sheets. Last night they felt like they were scratching my skin. I rolled over and said to my husband, ’’Dear, in the morning you’ll have to iron the sheets’’. We don’t have a lot of things we iron, but when there is ironing to be done, that’s my husbands chore. It doesn’t bother him because he use to work in a laundry.

When we moved to Victoria, we didn’t bring our old iron, because it was big and heavy.

When we got here we went out to buy a new iron. We looked at a Black & Decker and a few types of Phillips. We bought the Philips Steam HI 206.

It’s blue and white, very light and quite small. This is a steam iron that has careeza plate at the base of the Iron. There is a cover for the sole plate that slips on even then the plate is warm. This means we don’t have to wait until the iron cools down to put it away.

When I pull the cord out of the electric socket it rewinds itself.

Most of the body is when the water is. It holds about 350 milliliters of water and the iron is self cleaning. We have owned this iron for five years and there has been no rust on the plate.

There is an automatic system that separate the calcium and stops the scaling so I don’t have to use a mixture of vinegar and water to get the lime out of the reservoir. There is an alert light that shows us if the iron is plugged in correctly.

A nice feature of this iron is the vertical steam holes with a steam output of 40 grams ever minute. The manuel says there is a separate chamber that has a separate chamber that will release 95 grams of water per minute in case you need more power to remove the creases. You adjust this on a circle below the handle and on top of the base.

That means that takes out the creases from items that are hard to get them out of, like jeans, suites and our table cloths. The place where you hold the iron is padded and feels very soft.

My husband never sends his shirts to the laundry because he doesn’t like starch in them. His cotton dress shirts weren’t easy to iron, with our old iron, but come out perfectly with this one.

I like the fact that there is an automatic safety shut off tab, on the slanted part of the top. It turns itself off after a few minute or if it tips over. I can’t remember how many things I burnt, (when I did the ironing), when I went to answer the phone. If you’re smart like my husband is, he not only turns off the steam, but tilts the iron up, because it has it’s own stand at the back of the base.

We had a problem with our old iron, because it use to drip out of the steam holes. Some times the drips were so large I had to wait for them to dry before I could iron again. This little iron has a drip stop, so that has never happened since we bought it.

Phillips makes a lot of items and if you would like to see what they have to offer the link is:

If you need a new iron I hope you’ll look at this one.

We bought it a London Drug’s electrical department for $40.00 CAD
