I purchased the philips CFL bulb recently.the main disadvantage of CFL bulb is mercury contained in the bulb. This is ordinarily not a problem, but if the bulb breaks clear up is a hassle. Mercury is a dangerous heavy metal, and proper clear up and dispisal of CFL bulb is critical. Finally this bulb does not have longer life.
