I have found this electric shaver handy and convenient. Let me admit the transition from traditional lather & blade shaving system to this method (dry and no-lubricant) takes a lot of time to get accustomed (Do not go by the product catalogues distributed by the manufacturer.). And yes it would not suit all types.
I have been using the Philishave electric shaver (AC + battery triple cutter system) since the past five years. This shaving system has suited me quite well, giving satisfactory performance without the messy lathers and occasional nicks from the blades … most of all at significantly less time. The other advantage is the convenience of using it anywhere, without having to bother carrying the paraphernalia of traditional shaving systems. If you sport a moustache, then the trimmer is yet another handy attachment.
I have also tried the Braun pocket shaver and found the experience very bad. The rotary cutting system of Philishave is much superior.
The main drawback is the relatively rough shaves this system gives, so daily shave is a must. Some maintenance is required for the shaver heads - one really needs to handle these expensive precision-engineered parts with care.
On the whole a good product. As a product the Philishave can be recommended safely, provided the dry shaving system suits you!
