I have been moving in and out of Pune for work since the past 2 months. I have tried various hotels - Woodland(at Sadhu Vaswani Chowk on Pune station), Ambassador(Model Colony, Shivaji nagar) and Phoenix(near ABC farms at Koregaon Park). This has been by far the best hotel I have stayed at in Pune. They have the friendliest staff, with the manager always more than willing to help out with any issues you might have. At Rs. 3300 per night(negotiable) for a semi-deluxe room which comes with an attached balcony, this place has free wi-fi connectivity and a good breakfast spread in the mornings that comes with the package.
The rooms are spacious and they have a big screen TV. I would have liked it though, if they had DTH rather than cable TV coz the picture quality is quite sad. The bathrooms are good with hot water available throughout. Each room has a safe to keep your valuables in. And even when I left my high end camera on the bed and went off to work, I was happy to find it when I came back even after housekeeping had finished cleaning the room. Quite an honest lot. The only problem you might face here is if you are staying in Pune for business, as it is not conveniently located. If you need a rickshaw, you have to tell the reception to call for one. However, if you are in Pune for a good break, and like having Koregaon Park close to you, this is a great place. For me personally, I chose good service and good food over location and I’m very happy with the hotel.
