A sci-fi love-story??

When I read the name itself, it sounded somewhat confusing, which I don’t think has any meaning in the Marathi language. But that kind of makes us curious to go and watch what the film is all about.

Secondly, the movie is by one Sujay Dahake, who has previously given us hits like Shaala(which won National award) and another one - Aazoba. That is another reason, I decided to have a try at it.

And it does not really disappoint. But yes, you would not know what to categorize this movie into, a love story? a sci-fi film?social/human value/relation related? I do not know, its kind of a mixture of all.

Here is the plot: Main character, Veera, an engineering student falls in love with the lead female character - Anaya (played by Ketaki of Timepass fame) in his college, however like every other person in love, he finds it difficult to express his love. Anaya, however is in love with Nano, her senior fellow in the college.

Veera is a studious chap and he works on a science project and ends up creating a robot, a 3D personality looking similar to Anaya. The movie is all about this as the name of the robot is Phuntroo. Kind of crazy virtual love. May be this will have a sequel too.

Movie is modern, acting is good, especially Ketaki impresses, male character played by one Madan Deodhar looks to be a new chap, but played his role well. Dahake as Director impresses again.

I would say its a 50-50 from my side, you may like it, may not. Depends really on individual taste. It’s a different kind of movie, probably something never tried in a Marathi Cinema. It’s ok if you don’t understand the language, there would be English subtitles to assist you.
