Picnic restuaurant located at Alto porvorim off calangute road, less than half a km
from the famed O’Coqueiro restaurant..
This is one of the smaller restuaurants that we frequently visited in goa..
Food preparation here is excellent...Fish, something that everyone thrives on in this region is generally fresh and well prepared..Here honourable mention should be made of fried king fish, chonak(giant sea perch), fresh bombay duck, oysters and squids and another fish they call modso in goa(and which for some reason the waiters always mention first).You could also try prawn fish curry and prawn balchao both of which are excellent !..Goan chicken cafreal is also well prepared though hotel florentine(which is famed for cafreal) is only around 6 kms away.
As far as ambience goes, one has options in that as well....Incase you are of ’’I care a damn’’ type or like to enjoy breeze and moonlight while you have meal you could sit outside the restaurant right next to the road...
Other option is where I would sit boozing, inside the restaurant(my parents go for a stroll along the calangute road after dinner)
They serve chinese food besides goan and north indian though I never tried that.
Rates are very reasonable.Chicken dishes are around 60 bucks and even the best fish won’t be above 100..
Can’t say much about the pub though I remember there were separate sections for smokers n non-smokers(which has no A/C)..A little pleading with the waiter though can get you the best of both worlds. Booze is reasonable priced..
They also provide home delivery around porvorim.But be aware it can take ages for food to reach your place especially if you order a little late at night..
All in all this place is great value for money..
