Actual wattage in rms per channel is 25 watts rms.
For all systems on 12 v car battery although car cd player manufacturers rate them otherwise.
Calculation is very simple mosfet or no mosfet like
v/I = r ohms law
v*I = watts
r= 4 ohms speaker
v= 12v car battery
i = v/r = 12/4 = 3A
so wattage max theoretical = v* I = 12*3 = 36 watts.
No system is 100 percent efficient. So less 25 % for losses as heat radiation.
= 25 watts rms . that is for a full square wave divide by root 2 for sine wave
to get actual rms.or continuous power.
This rms of 20 w. can be multiplied by 2.5 to get music power 50 w per channel
Or multiply by 10 to 15 by hi fi system manufacturers to get pmpo of roughly 300 w(speaker rating).
Computer speakers manufacturers like to multiply by 100 ie 7 watt rms = 700watt pmpo for them.

The best thing about sony is 120 db signal to noise ratio signal amplifier pioneer is 95 db.
Dynamic range = 20 hz to 20 khz.
For layman that means ratio of highest level sound is to lowest level sound. so sony has very great and unbeatable clarity .
Sony is 50% more hi fi than pioneer.
Sony makes optical lenses themselves and there drives last long.
So go for it.
Only benefit of pioneer is it plays wma as well.
Price of pioneer 4650 and sony5500 is 6500 grey market. (120$)
Sony5500 drawback is display ltd to 8 char.so complete title of mp3 can be read only once during start of track when it scrolls once.
Sony 3300 is 5500 Rs (100$). drawback no remote control and cd changer control.
Sound quality of all cdplayers of sony or pioneer 100 - 150 $ is same as basic amp electronics same 24 w *4 rms rating 50 w * 4 music power. Features may differ.
Best speakers I found were made by jvc price 30%more much better highly efficient tweeters on them than sony pioneer. Let your ears do the judging.
