I just watched it yesterday, I was afraid from disappointment because I loved the first movie and didn’t expect that it will be as good as "PC- the curse of the Black Pearl"... I was wrong..! It’s much better, it’s above all expectations and let the audience very curious about what will happen in "PC-At world’s End" witch will be the third act of Jack Sparrow ’s journey.
But let’s talk about our movie: "Pirates of the Caribbean : Dead Man’s Chest". The story this time reveals some parts of the dark life of our lovely pirate "Jack Sparow" (Johnny Depp). So like every ambitious young man in the Caribbean he wanted to be a great sailor, a free man : a Pirate. But in order to achieve his dream, he must have what every pirate needs: A ship. So he made a deal with the Ocean...yes... the Ocean him self called also Davy Jones (The Heartless man). The deal was that Davy Jones will bring back the Black Pearl from the sea, witch is not a big deal if you control a Giant Monster like the CRAWL, in the exchange of the soul of Jack Sparow who will pay his debt in the next 13 years. But as we know, every pirate who respects him self will break such a deal and that what Jack did. But it’s not an easy task if your compass don’t show you the north in addition of a black Mark in the Hand that tells you: The Crawl will hunt you soon. His only chance to escape from Davy’s punishment is to get "the Dead Man’s Chest".
While our Jack is now afraid and confused, the nice couple : Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) are about to marry each other, but their wedding is canceled when Lord Cutler Beckett, the bad guy who controls the Indian Company, came with letters of condemnation from London. Captain Jack Sparow’s friends are facing death sentence for helping him escape.
But Lord Cutler Beckett has great plans for him self and his company: he wants the Dead Man Chest and to get it, he wants the Compass of Jack. He will push Will Turner to find Jack Sparow’s Compass in order to save his love Elizabeth. Soon both of them will face Monsters, Men-eaters, Davy Jones and Jack Sparow him self.
It’s a wonderful story full of twists and funny moments. You should see Jack Sparow’s escape from the island of some crazy people who eat their God. It was breathtaking.
The special effects are just amazing, I stopped asking if some scenes are real or done by computer because every thing seams real even the most craziest jumps or the most frightening monsters.
After the first 1/2 hour, the action will not stop and the end will just let you facinated and you will ask : why they turn on the theater’s lights? when the next movie will be released?
All the credit must go to Jonny Depp, he’s amazing, outstanding, marvelous.... I can’t think about pirates without thinking in Jack Sparow and automatically in Jonny. He’s bad, unfaithful smart and funny. The way he looks, the way he runs, the way he fights... there’s something about this character that make you love him even if he’s a nasty pirate. Jonny said in an interview that he created this character in the bathroom witch reminds me of Archimedes and his legendary Eureka when he set the principles of density. I think that all the great ideas come in the bathroom, so I will write my reviews their to improve my imagination...:-)
Orlando Bloom in the role of the brave lover did good. Keira Knightley was good too, and did her action scenes very well, she plays the courageous girl a little bit confused with her feelings for Will and Jack .
All in all, "PC-Dead Man’s Chest" have all the ingredients of a very good movie, even the music is outstanding and put you in the action.
Go see it and you will thank me later by rating my review and sharing some of your ideas. Let the wind lead your ship to a save place where you can keep visiting Mouthshut.
