If one has seen a giant squid then one should definitely watch the sequel to Pirates of the Caribbean. Every actor and actress has done a tremendous job of playing his or her role especially Johnny Depp or Jack Sparrow the loser pirate captain who does not command a ship as his ship the black pearl was stranded on an island. His philandering ways and quirky humor quickly take one from scene to scene. The movie plot by itself is pretty demanding and requires full attention to comprehend but the action sequences and humor that dot the movie makes it a great movie to watch. The ending is a bit melodramatic but it keeps you waiting for the next sequence. From start to finish the movie is well paced and the soundtrack is keeps it very much alive. Did pirates live like this? No, pirates were scoundrels and would throw you overboard if you did not serve any purpose and that is well, not so portrayed in the movie. I would buy both these movies and keep them for posterity.
