The movie “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” is directed by Gore Verbinski and casts are Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley, Bill Nighy, Stellan Skarsgard. The movie only made it because of Johnny Depp. The Plot of this movie is somehow missing. It does not have a major plot it just connects the first and the third movie gives the third movie a base and explain how the first move will link to the third. It does not have a complete plot by itself.
Yet the movie kept me in my seat for various reasons.
1st Being Johnny Depps amazing acting. The only reason any of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies are making it is because of Johnny Depps acting. He holds the audience with his sense of humor, amazing acting( Its not easy to act drunk 24/7) and his good looks for some perhaps?
2nd Is the expectation of the plot to actually move but the movie ended just when the plot began as I said the 2nd movie itself does not have a plot. The first movie gave audiences something to expect and many people stayed in their seats waiting for it to happen. The first movie was even funnier.
3rd being the good action I mean even though the plot can be criticized thsi movie in itself has amazing action sequences and shows developments in the relationships between Will(Orlando Bloom), Elizabeth(Keira Knightley) and CAPTAIN Jack(Johnny Depp). It is interesting to watch the change in Jacks and Elizabeths character and finally Wills has got more of a role than just his usually pretty boy look. This movie shows a darker side of Jack yet somehow never making him dislikable or a "villain" of the movie. In fact you just fall more in love with Jacks character that is if you overlook the horrible lack of personal hygenie.
Id say you watch this movie if you are a true fan of the first, as it is excellently made and is a very important link between the first and third movie. Third movie is expected summer of 2007 so get round to watching the second movie fast. You really cannot miss it but watch "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl" first or the journey of the characters will be very incomplete.
Also remember to sit through after the credits. There is a short clip after.
