If ever there could ever be a gay or bi sexual pirate it would be Sparrow (Johnny Depp)!!! That exaggerated swagger, the kholed eyes, the beads and baubbles!!! Its too hillarious!
Having said that, no one could also be more attractive to the women! There is just something so needy and vulnerable yet defiant and rebellious about the character that you can’t help loving him even while you curse his escapist tendencies!
The movie per say is well crafted albeit a litle too long... too much of the slimey dutchman! Really too much...!
The pace could have been a lil faster. The story-line is well threaded...the follow up from the first movie to this and the ending which makes you hanker for the next in the trilogy is well achieved.
Keira was a little bit of a let down...the spark was missing...orlando bloom was as good as a boring character (in contract to Johmmy Depp’s Sparrow) allows him to be. Its no wonder Elizabeth finds Sparrow irresistable while not willing to let go of the good, sensible and reliable Will!!
A small recap from the first movie would have helped viewers recall and reconnect!
The movie has all the supernatural elements one can think of...had this been a hindi movie everyone would have butchered it to the underworld...but since its a "hollywood" film its all acceptable...The hypocracy of the west amazes me... they shunned and derided Kriss in certain parts of the western world for borrowing from the hollywood superhero’s and also saying that the stunts were a bit over the top.... watch Pirates.... and then tell me if we can re-define over the top!
