Adventure, mystery, ghosts, supernatural, love, .... this movie contains all of it.
It has been a long time since I have seen a movie like this. It is a traditional, classic adventure movie and does not disappoint. The movie is about some pirates, who have a chest which contains pendants, which legend says should not be taken out of the chest. Anyone taking it out would be cursed and would be the undead, with their true nature being shown in the moonlight. The pirates of the ship, Black Pearl, are so cursed and they must find all the pendants and drop it back along with the blood of the person who took it from the chest. The last pendant remains and this pits the pirates against Will Turner, the long lost son of a dead pirate, his ladylove and Captain Jack Sparrow, the ex-captain of the Black Pearl, who was left for dead and has now returned.
The visual and audio effects are good and not overdone. The storyline is very simple and does not force a person to think too much. The theme is different and is in line with some of the Indiana Jones movies like the Raiders of the Last Ark and the Temple of Doom.
Anything more said will ruin the fun. But if you like adventure, see this movie and see it on the big screen.
My personal favorite character is Captain Jack Sparrow. I would be really surprised if anyone returns from the movie without having Capt JS at the top of their minds. This guy has got the meat of the roles, the oneliners and an appearance to match.
My personal Recommendation: Dont miss this one (unless of course you hate water).
