This movie is one of the action flicks relased for this summer. In my opinion this is better than Charlies Angels and The Hulk. No gravity defying action scenes , No CGI tricks. This movie too has a bit of graphics but they have been used sensibly. It’s not a great movie, but a nice one. This movie totally belongs to Johnny Depp. Take him out and this movie would have been a flop. This is the first movie I have seen of him, and I am really amazed by his performance. The other cast are , Keira Knightley ( yes, the girl in Bend it Like Beckham ) , and Orlando Bloom ( Lord of the Rings fame) and Geoffrey Rush ( Les Miserables fame).
Story in a nutshell Will Turner (Orlando bloom) is a pirate as a child and after some accident to his ship will be rescued by Elizaben Swann, daughter of governer Swann, who hides the fact that he is a pirate from everyone else, and starts liking him from the childhood.. Johhny Depp, a lovable rouge, once captain of a most feared pirate ship called ’’Black Pearl’’ is cheated once by captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) and is left on an island. And he wants his damn ship back. Elizabeth is captured by pirates, led by captain Barbossa and Will Turner, being her lover, wants to rescue her and sicne he can’t do this alone, takes help of a pirate (yes, you guessed it right. Its captain Jack Sparrow). That’s just the outline of the movie, thers a lot more for you to watch. And heres what I liked about the movie.. It’s an action movie with sword fightings etc, but there are no stupid gravity defying stunts like Charlies Angels. Captain Jack Sparrow - When ever the movie starts to be dull, he comes to rescue with his wonderfully drunken performance. Theres one scence in which skeletons walk through water, which is visually amazing.
