Unique People, Common (e)Story

The following review, although fictional, is my view of how the director/story writer of Piya Ka Ghar have conceived Piya Ka Ghar. But before that a little bit about this serial:

Piya ka Ghar is telecasted on Zee T.V. on weekdays Mon-Thu. The show?s main stars are Alokh Nath, Narayani Shastri, and Suhasini Muley.

It is also another saans-bahu show, and can fit into the category of family drama very easily although not under the (K)Ektaa Kapoor banner. It stands second place(after Lipstick) in being the weirdest and hay-wire gone show of on Zee T.V.

How it was created.

The way Piya ka Ghar was created was a very simple yet effective way of making a monotonous and highly long serial to last. The director of this show, I must say, is very smart.

Fact No.1: There are three type of age groups after being a teenager.

Young(javaan- 20?s), Middle-aged(35-40?s), and Old(yeah?well)

Fact No. 2: The world is full of different people(and I MEAN different)

Examples: happy-go-lucky, frustrated, wicked, sadist, good-doer(your typical Indian nari type), psycho etc.

These two rules combine to make Piya Ka Ghar

For those who don?t see this serial must be wondering what exactly I mean.

Well, the director just combined all these types of people, sorted them in the three age groups and gives us a huge family. Add to this the extras who just appear and disappear throughout the serial(who by the way are also unique) and you get the whole serial. NO one person, I repeat, no one person can be similar in this serial. We here on Piya ka Ghar can?t survive without extremists. Be it ultra-nice, Rimjhim, ultra-wicked Naina Devi, ultra-confused(all the time) Avinash, or even mega-misundestander, Babuji.

THE PLOT(if there is any)

Basically the story is about a family, with only one intelligent & ultra nice person(the chotti bahu ofcourse), the main chracter played by Narayani Shsatri. Throughout the serial, we see family problems which can be connected to politics and the underworld caused by family members, instigated by family members and resolved by A family member(you guessed it right Narayani Shastri). As I said before, characters keep popping back and forth, new ones are introduced, and old ones just vanish into thin air. Also, simultaneously, while these people come, Rimjhim keeps on getting misunderstood by all the family members on her character and every time, after the director gives people 20 more episodes to drag.

IN TERMS OF ACTING

Alokh Nath: Alokh Nath can ask guiness book of world records to publish his name for the actor who played Babuji most no. of times. And here he does the same thing, so you can imagine. Pure torture. At times he looks like a depressed teddy-bear with the amount of weight he has put on. He?s anytime way better in Astitva.

Narayani Shastri : I don?t know, even though her role is terribly boring, I can?t help liking her. She was way better in Koi Apna Sa, even though I found that serial bad, but anyways. She might be liked by some people, and not by the people who hate these type of shows.

Suhasini Muley: But alas, yet another good actress wasted. Suhasini Muley, as said by somebody else on mouthshut, doesn?t have much to do, but crinkle up her nose and scream, ?E ladki!? Translation: ?Hey Girl!?

Out of the other actors, I only like Prachi Shah(Yashoda), and Priyanka(Kaveri). Bakul Thakkar as Pratik is just about O.K. I like the guy who plays Rakesh(don?t know his name). The rest are just average.

THE MOST IRRITATING PARTS

Definitely the most irritating parts are that Rimjhim, is always misunderstood and then is always proven right. The director just likes to drag serials showing her troubled times.

The comedy-relief of the two equally irritating servants.

?E ladki!?

I could continue but the whole serial is full of irritating parts so it could take me weeks to type them up.

DIRECTOR?S PART

The director just saw some Ektaa Kapoor shows and mashed them up to make Piya ka Ghar. Also, I think the director is of the same director of Gharana(which was equally worse). He doesn?t need to much other than maybe say, cry, shout, show an evil smile and so on. Although, I must compliment his work on the different type of people he researched on.

By the way, in my title, when I said (e)story, I meant Ektaa Kapoor.
