So, I a western eatery or a fast food chain is conspicuously missing from my list of reviews about restaurants in Chennai, and thought of writing this if you call Pizza Corner as a full-fledged Western Eatery.
Location and Others
Pizza corner is present in many places in Chennai, the only restaurant I visited was the one on Nugambakkom High Road. Its quite near to my office which is on Mount road and you can see lot of yuppies out there if you go during lunch time. I think that they have one at Adayar and Anna Nagar as well.Parking is ok cos there is a small road on the left of the restaurant where you can park your car or two-wheeler, there is not much space on the front.
Ambience & Others
There is nothing much to say about the ambience, The thing with these chains is that a Pizza Corner in India looks and smells exactly the same everywhere. You can sit on a chair or if you go to the end of the hall, laze on a sofa, I prefer the sofa myself. The attendants are sufficient in number and normally they guide you to a suitable seat, which normally I dont like. The walls are decorated with posters and memorabilia from F1 which I don’t follow much.
Foodfare
I dont want to make this review long cos when I start to write about food I keep on writing. I just give the essence of the menu.
Salads and others
Couple of salad available, I didnt see a Salad bar here though. My favorite is Greek Salad with Thousand Island Dressing, this cost around 60 bucks or so.
The also have lasagna which I consider very heavy and normally dont go for that cos it spoils my appetite and prevents me from having my pizzas. I think its around 70-80 bucks. I am sorry that I dont keep track for individual items and worry only about the end result.
Starters or whatever
I zimbly love their Cheese garlic bread. I like to sprinkle some Chilli Flakes and the wonderful Seasoning they provide over these litte cute things and devour them instantly. One portion has four pieces, and it would be enough for one person like me. They also have cheese garlic breads with toppings and also with chillies. Cost betwee 30-50 bucks depending on the variety. Other things available are Potato Vedges which is also quite popular.
Pizzas
There a zillions (or many) to choose from, so will list down some that I like. These comes as Thick Crust or Thin Crust and I personally prefer pan pizza.
Vegetarian
Cottage Garden is probably the best Veg Pizza available today, it may not be as expensive as Veg Supremes available, I suggest you ignore the Veg Supremes and try out this one, it has lot of Baby Corn, Cottage Cheese(Paneer) and other goodies. Cost is around 200 bucks for a large I guess. You can try the Iron man pizzas with Spinach too.
Non-Vegetarian
We dont get authentic pepperoni in Chennai, so I give the pepperoni a skip. I go for Chicken Hawaiian, my favorite of all time, Its quite simple really, just chicken ham and pine-apple. But when you have this one with the chilli flakes (pineapple and chilli mix well), its out of this world. I normally order my pizza with Extra Extra Cheese, for one extra Cheese they charge 25 bucks. The price is around 200-250 for a large pizza, much cheaper then the Chicken Supreme. Now they also have the Spicy Sausage which is also quite good but more expensive then The Hawaiian.
Drinks & Deserts
You get the normal stuff like the soft drinks and the ice creams and all that, but I dont go in much for that. To wash my pizza I have a Bottomless cola, which is re-filled by the staff before its even half empty. I really loved this gesture. Costs 25 bucks. They also have some fudges as well couldnt figure out what they are.
Other Offers
When I went they had a offer, Unlimited Slices of Pizza for 99 bucks, I request you guys ‘skip’ it, cos they give only slices for 99 bucks with no toppings, for each toppings you have to pay more. Its better if you go in for a normal pizza instead. Hey, do you know that you can make your own pizza as well, they charge 25 bucks for one topping, ie you have to buy a baisc Margarita and go on adding toppings, its really fun till you come to know the bill!!
What I feel
I have felt that Pizza Corner is in fact pleasant to hang around, and its not that crowded these days. Some branches are even Kid Friendly and you can organize your kids bday party as well. They have some standard packages and even organize games for the kids.
You can visit the place with you family or friends and have a jolly good time, without worrying how your food will taste like cos you know how it will taste like!!!
Peace

Thoughts : Me and my Pizza
My love with pizzas goes back 4 years, when I visited Hungary for the first time, the only decent palatable thing I got was Pizzas. ( I was not very adventurous the first time around, later I started trying local cuisine). It was my staple diet for one long month.
