We’ve all been to Pizza Hut, right? Well guess what:
NEVER EAT AT PIZZA HUT AGAIN! Here?s why:
It all started on Saturday night when Kevin came over to our place. I had what I thought was the great idea to order takeout. Stefanie and I own a voucher book which ensures we never have to pay full price for anything. Flicking through, I noticed pages of Pizza Hut and Pizza Haven special offers. I sought approval from Kevin and Stefanie, and in a few minutes I was placing our order over the phone.
Our order:
1 large Cheese Lovers pizza
1 1/2 Troppo Veg, 1/2 Veggie Supreme
4 Flava pack (4 x 375 mL drinks)
Total cost: $31.15
I told the woman on the phone that I had a voucher.
’’Dougie’’ arrived with our order half an hour later. Kevin and I were outside talking about our top secret ’other’ site that we?re working on. The guy came up to the house and gave us the stuff and said, ’’Okay, that?s $31.15.’’ I said to him, ’’Now, I have this voucher...’’
’’It?s $31.15 WITH the voucher, ’’ was his response.
’’Hmm, okay.’’ I?ve never ordered a delivery from Pizza Hut in my life so although I thought this was wildly expensive, I went inside to get more money.
I gave him $31.20 and the voucher. He asked me if I wanted change. I realise now I should have asked him for about TEN DOLLARS change.
We went inside and I complained to Stefanie that it was so expensive. ’’He?s ripped you off, ’’ she told me. Stefanie is so wise.
For a short while I forgot about it as we sat down to enjoy our meal. But personally, I didn?t enjoy it at all. Also every time I picked it up everything slid off. It was very annoying and frustrating.
Above is one of the pizzas. Very appetising, no? What a sucker I am, I put that inside my body! Afterwards I felt like spewing. Details are sketchy, and I am unsure whether I simply ate too much or whether it was bad quality of Pizza Hut pizzas in general.
Remember when I spewed in one of the earliest features on the site? Man that was sad -- or funny, depending on how you look at it.
Later that night we all sat around the computer and sussed out the (Australian) Pizza Hut website. Going by their prices you can get 2 large pizzas from $23.90, so with the drinks this roughly adds up to the $31.15 we were quoted. Therefore, ’’Dougie’’ has spoilt it. Or maybe he didn?t spoil it - MAYBE he thought we looked like suckers and pocketed the extra $12 bucks for himself!!! Stefanie encouraged me to contact Pizza Hut and reclaim this money.
I went into the Feedback section on their website and wrote a letter of complaint.
Whether I get a refund or not I don?t really care. So, kids, what have you learned today?
