Well it was my birthday. Though we usually order Cakes for birthdays, this time we thought differently and decided to order Pizzas instead. Also we used to go there directly and buy the pizzas. My location had a Pizza corner but was now shut down. So I only had the option of ordering through phone.
So, i got into their website " http://www.pizzahut.co.in" and got the number for ordering. For all the branches it was all the same numbers. So before ordering I went through their website for different menu out there. And after a lots of analysis I decided to order a "Grand Dinner Box" and a "Rawalpindi Chana Paneer Pizza, Medium size". The former for Dinner and the later for cutting for b’day instead of a Cake!
So after this I called up their common number 60009000 and a guy picked up. And here is the conversation -
Pizza Hut CC - Welcomed me and then immediately asked my name, address and phone number first. He did not even care to take a order. Now what if, I don’t order it! Because I usually don’t provide my personal details which is useless.
Me - Gave him my details.
- After analyzing my address, he replied.
Pizza Hut CC - Do you have any pizza huts near by your home sir?
Me - I don’t remember. You tell me, because its your company. Don’t you know the Branch Locations list?
Pizza Hut CC - He gave me names of all the branches which were located in north Chennai.
What? Pizza hut runs only on North Chennai. Heck.!
Me - No I belong to south Chennai.
Pizza Hut CC - Sir, give me some of the well known location near by your locality.
Me - I gave him some of the location names which are about 5 to 6 Km Radius.
Pizza Hut CC - Sir, "We only do home deliveries for places within 2Kms!
Thought in my mind - When did pizza corner opened branches for every 2kms!
Me - Thank you and I don’t need to order anything for you.

So one thing is very sure, their Home Delivery Service is not Customer supportive.. I have ordered with many hotels doing home delivery at about 5 kms in diameter. Pizza huts with International accreditation lacks in Home deliveries.
The other reason why that Customer care executive could not understand me is because he was replying to me from Bangalore.!
A customer from Chennai gets response from Bangalore. Well how would he know locations of Chennai and so how would he understand my needs! Very bad Strategy.
Anyways finally, I ordered the Pizzas from Papa Jones and celebrated by B’day. Papa Jones are far far better than this Crappy Pizza Hut.
Verdict - Pizza hut is loosing its Grip in India I guess. They should improve or else they won’t Survive. Even their Website is not so great, Lots of wrong information. Needs improvement too.
