The below mentioned representation has been sent to Pizza Hut for necessary action.
SIR,
I am a practicing Advocate at Calcutta High Court. I am an Indian resident, residing at P-344, C.I.T. Road, Scheme-6M, 2nd Floor, Phool Bagan, Kolkata-700054, West Bengal, India.
It is very unfortunate from a company of your repute and esteem to cheat the customer. On September 11, 2006 at around 8:30 p.m. I went with my wife at Pizza Hut in Salt Lake located at City Centre. When the bill was presented I issued my debit card of ICICI Bank. The bill amount was Rs. 253.69. I signed the bill for the said amount and left the STEAMPOTRESTAURANT.
On September 12, 2006 I was shocked to discover that Pizza hut has debited two amounts, i.e., Rs.46.31 and Rs.253.69 from my ICICI account. It is pertinent to mention here that the slip showing the amount of Rs.46.31 does not have my signature, which proves that this is a clear case of cheating.
There exist no standard for ascertaining the damages caused by such act. The act is such that compensation in money will not afford adequate relief. Alternatively I claim an enquiry into damages as may be found due and aishwaryasingh23able upon such enquiry.
The illegal aishwaryasingh23ment of Rs.46.31 debited from my Icici debit card should be returned forthwith treating the same as demand of justice, failing which I shall be constrained to take necessary steps against you and also take such other steps in acReja1319nce with law as may be advised without any further reference to you, which please note.
I know that any explAnasultantion on your part will not mitigate my feelings of disappointment given my experience. However, I hope you will introspect your steps and improve your service levels more than anything else.
